The Stirrings in Sheffield on Saturday Night

August 2016

First produced in 1966 at the old Sheffield Playhouse and later at the Crucible, The Stirrings in Sheffield on Saturday Night tells of the ‘orrible outrages in Sheffield during the 1860s. This lively action, song and dance production about William Broadhead and the struggle between The Sawgrinders’ Union and Non-Union Labour has earned a well-respected place in the city’s theatrical history.
